random jokes
August 30, 2009
The first one came with a moral of the story, while the second, contains some ‘complexity’ and I would suggest not to read it as it might corrupt your thoughts. =p
Joke 1:
A new vacuum cleaner salesman knocked on the door on the first house of the street. A tall lady answered the door.
Before she could speak, the enthusiastic salesman barged into the living room and opened a big black plastic bag and poured all the cow droppings onto the carpet.
“Madam, if I could not clean this up with the use of this new powerful Vacuum cleaner, I will EAT all this dung!” exclaimed the eager salesman.
“Do you need chilli sauce or ketchup with that” asked the lady.
The bewildered salesman asked, “Why, madam?”
“There’s no electricity in the house…” said the lady.
Moral of the story: Be damn sure of what is happening before you do or promise something that you can’t fulfill.
Joke 2:
A distinguished young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the priest sitting beside her, “Father, may I ask a favor?”
“Of course, child. What may I do for you?”
“Well, I bought an expensive electronic hair dryer for my mother’s birthday that is unopened and well over the Customs limits. I’m afraid they’ll confiscate it. Is there any way you could carry it through Customs for me…under your robe, perhaps?”
“I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you…I will not lie.”
“With your honest face, Father, no one will question you.”
When they got to Customs, the woman let the priest go ahead of her. The official asked, “Father, do you have anything to declare?”
“From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare.”
The official thought this answer strange, so asked, “And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?”
“I have a marvelous instrument designed to be used on a woman, but which is, to date…unused.”
Roaring with laughter, the official said, “Go ahead, Father. Next!”

Things I wish to do before it gets really busy
August 30, 2009
Cravings, everyone has, me nonetheless. Seriously, I really wanted to do alot of things before time is running out for me, busy understanding all the math stuff that I required to.
1. I need to shop for new t-shirts and berms. (I realised my wardrobe is full of Science Faculty shirts all over. Seriously, I need some other casual clothings)
2. I need to engage myself into more gatherings, socialize more before I isolate myself to become a nerd.
3. Tennis, soccer, mahjong and diving are all on the list. Hopefully, the diving trip in Sept is on.
And I am serious, I need life before I get too bored of becoming a nerd.
So long you know what you are doing
August 30, 2009
Why bother about others if your mind is set?
What makes you feel ashamed when you think you are doing the right thing?
Be confident! Just like my friend told me this before, ” So long you know what you are doing, and there is nothing wrong to it, what is there to be scared of, to be ashamed of?”
Dance With My Father

Another awesome song that can touched anyone easily. Enjoy!
Ranting, Cursing & What the…
August 21, 2009
This is the 1st time that I felt so hopeless about myself over soccer. Yes, hopeless! I kept telling friends, ” Hey, chill chill. Its just a game, don’t let it affect you. ” But today, it ended up myself eating my own words. Seriously, to say it is really finitely many times easier than to do it, though I don’t know how many folds. Still, ‘disappointment’ is really the word I can described myself during and after the soccer match.
From the start to the end, heavy 1st touches, aimless shooting and errors kept happening to me. I was always wrong footed, always making wrong judgements and energy level was low all the time. My legs can already feel the pull and the sore even though I have only played for few minutes and did not commit any high risk tackles. Well, something was really abnormally wrong to me. I can’t stand it.
Disappointed, but still, not to the extend of getting pissed. After cooling down and clearing some thoughts, I told myself next time history shall not repeat itself.
Watch out! I’ll be back soon with my best form.
(Tired, its time to sleep)
Lost again

Lunch buddies are hard to get now. And, I was like a weirdo walking round and round looking for lunch kakis, ended up eating with 2 persons rather strangers to me. Well, shall eat alone next time.
Packed
August 15, 2009
Sometimes, its good that events just carried on one after another, rather than pausing some way in the middle, asking myself, “So, what is next?”
Had a packed couple of days, starting with Ziping’s PRE 21st Birthday. Held at Chevron, and the place was so packed with her family members and friends. And the place was so unfriendly that I had to do limbo rock whenever I walked. Oops, abit exaggerating. Never mind that, we went to sing K after that, and what I can said was that it would probably my 1st and the last time visiting there. Trace back abit, argh… My singing was too poor to be mentioned. 该转音,我破音. Haiz… Sad. We went mahjong after that, and both Glenn and I were bold enough to dare each other, and we 包each other 五台, and my tiles were 小四喜!Wahaha!!! In the end, just play for fun, no money involved. Friendly game!
We only managed to catch 2-3 hours of sleep after the mahjong session and head back to NUS for badminton! Yes, badminton, and we played for roughly about 2 hours. I have not played badminton for few years prior to today session, and I felt I was clumsy and as though a newbie. Reflexes were slow and kept missing the shuttercock. I can only said 我老了…
Thereafter, I went back to Science to catch some sleep before I ran with the Maths Soc people. Though lethargic before that, but once started to jog, everything was back to normal. Felt like running more, but had to go for a random date with the Speedy seniors for the movie session UP. It was really a random date, plainly because we were ‘upset’ that our freshies have totally forgotten about their seniors, and they organised outings without us. So disappointed… and as seniors, we must really show them that we do not need freshies as well, we can have our own fun time as well. Oh well, just wanted to be AA only.
Anyway, UP was a good animated movie, an unusual one I would say. I thought it has shaken off some of the commonly seen plots in animation, and the graphics were pretty much very real. Well done, Pixar. Hope to see more nice of it.
Slacking is coming up next.
Starting of final year
August 12, 2009
It is my last year in NUS, and I am hoping to enjoy myself to the fullest before life begins elsewhere. It was a brand new start of the term year yesterday and I have already looked lost, helplessly looking for place to settle down and read something for my fyp. I went to look for my fyp supervisor and I was told that it will only start next week. Well, how would my fyp life be? Still in thoughts before really actually going through it next week. Meanwhile, just enjoy myself to the max and relax one corner now.
Just to whine abit. WHY ARE MY LECTURES 7-10PM? Hate the timeslots!
Flag & Rag
August 12, 2009
This year, it may seemed that we have beaten soundly by biz, and maybe we can point fingers at judges, but what would that have changed the results?
Biz won the best improvement for flag again!? Actually, its a good news, for the beneficaries, isn’t it? For science flag comm, we tried our best, and though I did not know whether we have improved, but its the competitiveness and science undying, never give up culture that spurred biz on to donate their money for charity. Didn’t we help in contributing in that segment as well? Winning is one thing, money is primary, and should be the objective as well. Ultimately, the winners in our mind should be ourselves who have worked hard, as well as the beneficaries who are receiving our help in the process. Anyway, well done flag comm!
As to rag side people, I would say its a pity to lose out in any of the awards mentioned. I don’t know whether its our bad luck or any bias involved. In any of the case, at least you all have witnessed the final product that you all have created over the past 1 year, inclusive of planning. Isn’t that awesome? Again, I know I am in no position of saying anything, but please take whatever that had happened as a learning experience. Hearsays can sometimes be the most lethal weapon in the world. P.S: Well done for rag comm and all the raggers!
A pity for such a nice float to miss out on any award. Its US (UNITED SCIENCE!)

SOW 09 (Speedy)
After so many camps, I realised that the freshmen will only get high and lead themselves and not let the seniors worry, only on the eve or on the Sentosa day itself. There is nothing different with Speedy as well. 4D3N, despite losing so many station games, we did not lose any sportsmanship, that caused any unhappiness. We enjoyed ourselves in this camp, thanks to all the Speedy Seniors & Freshies.
Many nicknames were created, some were funny, while some, being random. I remembered vin nee, the only non-local freshie in Speedy, won the “Wash Milk” (洗牛奶)game, we started to call her 马奶, because she was from Malaysia. Subsequent games she was unbeaten, and that was how we addressed her from then on. And there was another freshie, Junrong, who always liked to boast before station games. He was super arrogant in the way he talked, and so we addressed him as ‘Hao Lian Kia’. The last one, I think its the best, because it was his nickname that motivates the creation of the new cheer that many of the people are using now. He is none other than our Lai Kiu, our Suay kao lao sai. He got this nickname after one of the station games, whereby he threw the dart at the ’suay kao lao sai’ perimeter, and have to do a forfeit with Carlene. Then on, we addressed him as that and Timothy even created the suay kao lao sai cheer. Everything was so unplanned, so funny. Not just these 3 persons, each of us have a story of our own that earned us a nickname.
And then within our OGs, we did stupid things and film it down. One of those was created by Carlene, who was a crazy little girl who brought the rest of Speedy around to do the Ecstasy cheer, at midnight 2-3am, and right after they had showered. I was also being pulled along with them. It was like, so high and random. 你累了吗?我很累!The other one, was created by me, but only Johan, Weikit did it with me. We were really crazy enough to do the 2D floor dance. And basically just perform the mass dance on the floor while we are lying down. It was like, oh my tian, so ridiculous.
Everything in this SOW was fun, except… I shall not mentioned too much. Just that I feel that seniors are very important, they are what the freshies gonna to be behave like. I am just disappointed about the attendance towards the end of the camp. Anyway, this year SOW ended with a bang! =D
